Lemonade Stand Project for Trailhead, Salesforce

A project I worked on at my summer internship. I contributed to the ideas, layouts, writing, and all the illustrations.
Trailhead, the learning platform of Salesforce, wanted to create technology to help kids start their own businesses, so they created a Lemonade Stand App last Dreamforce. However, they had no business planning materials for the kids so they asked me and my team (Sherissa Go, Claire Daly) to create kid-friendly business guides based on a Lemonade Stand for Dreamforce 16'

What did we do?
We created three things: a business resource guide, a workbook, and a workflow. The resource guide was an in-depth pamphlet that spoke about each step in a business and was meant to be read first. The complementary workbook helped kids thoroughly understand concepts by using the "learn by doing" approach, and sequential fill-in-the-blank problems. The workflow gave the kids a brief overview of the whole business thinking process.

Resource Guide
The guide gave a detailed review on the business thinking and provided examples, so children can expect what will happen when building a business. I created all the layouts and illustrations in the printable pdf version.

Workflow
This workflow helps children easily understand concepts with the workflow's key concepts and bulleted important details. I sketched it in a fun, sketchy style for it to be exciting for kids.

Workbook
I wrote these pages of the workbook. The workbook is meant to be completed after reading the in-depth resource guide, so kids can solidify their business thinking skills. The activities are sequential, just like the steps to start a business in the resource guide.

Final Takeaways
If I had to do it again, I would research more on the children's learning habits and revise the materials based on that. I think the workflow was a good idea, but I would have brushed up on the handwriting. Composition and layouts could also be improved to be more fun.
